Ms. Michelotti said it appears Mr. Pico does not trust Council's decision and that <br />something that was initiated and stated to be permanent will not be permanent. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarvet felt debate was starting to go over the same issues. In terms of staff <br />direction, he agreed with Mr. Pico, Council wants to ask the voters about the work that has been <br />done and to vote on whether to change it. He wants three issues, but will agree to only two on <br />the ballot if necessary. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to put to a vote of the people <br />an amendment to the General Plan that would provide that major adjustments to the Urban <br />Growth Boundary could be made only after approval by a vote of the electorate of the City <br />of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The r011 call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: Councilmembers - Michelotti and Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Pico, seconded by Ms. Dennl.% to put to a vote of the people <br />an amendment to the General Plan to ask whether the electorate wants to have a vote on <br />any changes to the 29,000 housing unit cap. <br /> <br />The roll c.~ll vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet <br />NOES: Councilmembers - Michelotti and Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mayor Tarver, seconded by 1Vlr. Pico, to put before the voters the <br />concept of amending the growth management program to limit residential development to <br />350 units per year, not including San Francisco Water District property. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmember Pico and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, and Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> The motion failed. <br /> <br /> Council then returned to a review of the Planning Commission recommendations. <br /> <br />07/02/96 -31- <br /> <br /> <br />
