Ms. Michelotti referred to the 1800 acres now open to the public, which is about half of
the total acreage. Is that because property is still necessary to connect different areas? How far
can people go from Bernal Park to the Ridgeland Park?.

Ms. Combs described those parts that are accessible. The additional funds will allow
access from the Garms property up to the Ridge. Right now the Garms property does not
connect to the Ridgelands. Currently the public must access the ridge from Golden Eagle or the
staging area at the end of Foothill. This intervening piece will allow access from the top of
West Las Positas. At some point, there will be access from Dublin Canyon Road and there is
a major regional trail that will go from Sunol to Pleasanton Ridge through Dublin and on to Las
Trampas. She further indicated once development is in, it is harder to get local access points.
It is much easier to get access before the people live there.

It was moved by Ms. Denni% seconded by Ms. Mohr, to approve Option 2,
approving a specific amount of funding for District parkland acquisition in the Capital
Improvement Budget to be considered annually with all other City projects.

Ms. Dennis felt the Ridgelands Park means a lot the people of Pleasanton and it is
important to finish it. It is a great attraction to the community and is part of what brings people
to live and work here. She felt the partnership approach was very good.

Ms. Michelotti supported a matching fund program.

Mr. Pico wanted to make sure the program was flexible.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Dennis, Michelotti, Mohr, Pico, and Mayor Tarvet
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

There was a break at 10:15 p.m.

The meeting was reconvened at 10:21 p.m.

Item 6e
Ratification of Recent ACtiOns by Livemore Amador Valley Water Management A2ency
(LAVWMA) Representatives Concerning F_A~_ansion Planning and Pi_ueline ReDair.
(SR96: 170)

Randall Lum presented the staff report.

Ms. Mohr asked if the engineering recommendation was for a 24" pipe.

06/04/96 -15-
