Adopt Resolution No. 9(>-23, a Resolution of Intention to approve an amendment <br /> to the contract between the Board of Administration of the Public Employees' <br /> Retirement System and the City Council of the City of Pleasanton regarding <br /> Fourth Level 1959 Sttrvivor's Benefit for local fire members; introduce Ordinance <br /> No. 1677, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br /> authorizing an amendment to the City's Contract with the Public Employees <br /> Retirement System (PERS) to provide the "Fourth Level 1959 Survivors" Option <br /> to the City's Fire Public Safety Employees; and approve the Agreement Between <br /> City and PERS to Pool 1959 Survivors Benefit Assets and Liabilities. (SR96:69) <br /> <br /> k. Accept the Information Report of the Director of Parks and Community Services <br /> reviewing and analyzing nonresident fees for recreational services and facilities. <br /> (IR96: 14) <br /> <br /> 1. Oppose Assembly Bill 2084, and authorize the Mayor to send the attached draft <br /> letter to the appropriate legislators; support Senate Bill 1590 and direct staff to <br /> communicate the City' s position to the appropriate legislators and other interested <br /> parties; and authorize the Mayor, Councilmembers, and staff to participate in <br /> League of Cities-sponsored efforts supporting the bill. (SR96:65) <br /> <br /> m. PUD-81-30-32M/PIJD-85-8-13M, Prudential Insurance Company of America. <br /> This item was moved to Item 6g. (SR96: 17) <br /> <br /> Ed Churka questioned Items 4f and 4k. <br /> <br /> Randall Lure indicated Item 4f was a bike path that had been in the Trail Master Plan <br />for some time. This action is only a grant application and there is still a lot of work to be done. <br />The neighborhoods will be notified and will have an opportunity to give input on the project. <br /> <br /> Dolores Bengtson explained that Item 4k is an information report on existing policies on <br />charging nonresident fees and does not propose any new charges. <br /> <br /> Jerry Lemm spoke in favor of Item 4k. <br /> <br /> Steve Sherman, 4751 Sutter Gate Avenue, represented the Chamber of Commerce <br />Economic Development Committee. He referred to the proposal to impose a fee on employers <br />for business sector impacts on park facilities. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta indicated that item is scheduled for the agenda on 3/19/96. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sherman wanted to point out that the Chamber of Commerce was against any new <br />tax or fee imposed on busin.esses and felt it would have a negative impact on drawing businesses <br />to the area.
