MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> August 26, 1997 <br /> <br />6:00 P.M. CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> Conference with legal counsel regarding potential litigation against Alameda County <br />concerning its certification of an EIR and its approval of a specific land plan and related land <br />use entitlements for the San Francisco Water Department' s Bernal Avenue property. <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She complimented all those who <br />organized and worked on the Cruise Night on August 22, 1997. She announced the opening of <br />the new pool at the Aquatic Center and mentioned the Scottish Games to be held at the <br />Fairgrounds on August 30 and 31, 1997. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver further indicated there would be a grand opening to the Scottish Games <br />on Friday, August 29, 1997, under the Arch downtown. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. Pico, <br />Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Michael It. Roush, City Attomey; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; Randall A.
