NOES: Councilmember Dennis and Pico ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None There was a break at 9:15 p.m. The meeting reconvened at 9:25 p.m. Item 6b Cgnsiderati0n of the LAVWMA Principles of Agreement for Increased Wastewater DispoSal Capacity. (SR97:149) Mayor Tarver presented the report on the LAVWMA Principles of Agreement. Considerable work was still needed before a report could be submitted for a vote of the people in Pleasanton and Livermore. Cathy Brown, Mayor of Livemore, reiterated what Mayor Tarver said. This agreement takes care of developments in unincorporated areas, open space issues, vineyards, and agriculture lands. She is very excited about this agreement and said it was an honor working with all of those involved. Jeff Hansen, DSRSD Board Vice President, said a considerable amount of hard work was put into these Principles of Agreement and he encouraged Council to support it. He said this agreement is a wonderful example of valley wide cooperation. It ought to be used as a prototype for future endeavors. He supported the agreement and was looking forward to working together again. Mayor Tarver asked for public comment. Peter MacDonald, 400 Main Street, Suite 210, said he was here this evening to endorse the Principles of Agreement and asked Council to proceed. He had a concern as to whether the pipeline would be adequate to handle the wet weather flows and whether the pipeline would be used to control future development. He liked the cooperation and involvement of the three agencies. He congratulated Mayor Tarver, Mayor Brown and Mr. Hansen of DSRSD for puffing this together. Nate Meeks, 6387 Paseo Santa Maria, was here to advise Council on behalf of the Economic Development Advisory Committee, that it supported the Principles of Agreement and urged Council to do the same.
