The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Michelotti, and Mayor Tarver. <br />NOES: Councilmember Dennis and Pico <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> There was a break at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> The meeting reconvened at 9:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Item 6b <br />Cgnsiderati0n of the LAVWMA Principles of Agreement for Increased Wastewater DispoSal <br />Capacity. (SR97:149) <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver presented the report on the LAVWMA Principles of Agreement. <br />Considerable work was still needed before a report could be submitted for a vote of the people <br />in Pleasanton and Livermore. <br /> <br /> Cathy Brown, Mayor of Livemore, reiterated what Mayor Tarver said. This agreement <br />takes care of developments in unincorporated areas, open space issues, vineyards, and <br />agriculture lands. She is very excited about this agreement and said it was an honor working <br />with all of those involved. <br /> <br /> Jeff Hansen, DSRSD Board Vice President, said a considerable amount of hard work was <br />put into these Principles of Agreement and he encouraged Council to support it. He said this <br />agreement is a wonderful example of valley wide cooperation. It ought to be used as a prototype <br />for future endeavors. He supported the agreement and was looking forward to working together <br />again. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver asked for public comment. <br /> <br /> Peter MacDonald, 400 Main Street, Suite 210, said he was here this evening to endorse <br />the Principles of Agreement and asked Council to proceed. He had a concern as to whether the <br />pipeline would be adequate to handle the wet weather flows and whether the pipeline would be <br />used to control future development. He liked the cooperation and involvement of the three <br />agencies. He congratulated Mayor Tarver, Mayor Brown and Mr. Hansen of DSRSD for <br />puffing this together. <br /> <br /> Nate Meeks, 6387 Paseo Santa Maria, was here to advise Council on behalf of the <br />Economic Development Advisory Committee, that it supported the Principles of Agreement and <br />urged Council to do the same. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 5/06/97 <br />Minutes 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
