Item 4b Approval of Consultant Agreement with George Homolka for engineering serviceS, (SR97:30) Randall Lum indicated that to this point the City has spent $10,500 for George Homolka's service. About $6,000 was under a previous contract. Other incidental expenses regarding the workshops including maps, exhibits and a recording secretary were about $1,500. So far, about $12,000 total has been spent. Ms. Ayala made it clear she has no problem with Mr. Homolka, but she felt it was important for the public to be aware of how much a process like the West Las Positas interchange study is costing and if we are getting the results we are looking for. The reason she pulled it from the consent calendar was to get an update on the accounting, including staff time, for this particular process. Mr. Lum indicated staff could track the staff and related costs and get that to Council. It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to approve a contract with George E. Homolka, Inc. for a cost not to exceed $45,000 to provide project development/management and public facilitation services, and authorize the City Manager to execute said agreement; and to appropriate $45,000 from the General Fund for this contract.
