MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> THE <br /> MEETING <br /> OF <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> October 6, 1998 <br /> <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:04 p.m. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Dennis led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. She mentioned Item <br />4b, "Make a Difference Day" is on Saturday October 24 and urged the community's <br />participation in collecting canned food. She thanked the people in the community who regularly <br />make a difference in the lives of others. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver said Mike Faber would discuss the events for "Make a Difference Day" <br />later in tonight's meeting. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, and Mayor Ben <br />Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; Steven Bocian, Assistant <br />City Manager; Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and <br />Community Development; and Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Pico was absent and excused. <br /> <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> <br /> Deborah Acosta said Item 6al, the request for City Council's assistance in acquiring the <br />right-of-way for the North Sycamore Plan area east-west collector street, had been removed from <br />the agenda because agreement with the property owners had been reached without the need of <br />City assistance and Item 6a2, consideration of the approval of the North Sycamore Specific Plan <br />Finance Plan, had been removed from the agenda because staff had more work to do on the <br />item.
