Grove School but the community would like it to remain the way it is. Walnut Grove is able
to manage 850 students.

Ms. Haugen thanked Ms. Barker for her questions.
4. Adopt School Impact Fee Report and Recommendations

Dr. McCurtain said the agreement provides for the funding of over $65 million worth
of growth improvement to the schools. It provided the funds to construct Mohr Elementary
School, the new middle school in Hacienda Business Park and provide funds to upgrade Amador
and Foothill High Schools, and to build a new school on the Vineyard Corridor. The agreement
provides for a committee to meet once a year to review the overall growth projections of the
City and to look at the funds being provided in order to determine when more schools can be
built. This a cooperative effort between the two agencies to ensure Pleasanton has the best.
Recommendations were made to complete the San Francisco school as quickly as possible; to
rapidly build the middle school and look at securing property to build the Vineyard Corridor
school and that the fees being currently levied would stay at the same level as they are now.
This is an umbrella agreement supported by development fees. If a state bond is passed in
November the committee will meet to review the overall cash position and look at cash flow for
the future.

Ms. Michelotti suggested a joint meeting be scheduled to bring back the school impact
fee so both the Liaison and Development Impact Fee Committees can address the issues
together.

Mr. Dunston said the School, City, and Builder representatives support the fee.

It was moved by Mr. Kernan, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to adopt the School Impact
Fee and Recommendations.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, and Pico.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Mayor Tarver
ABSTAIN: None

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Boardmembers - Gunson, Kernan, McGovern, and President Haugen.
NOES: None
ABSENT: Boardmember Bassett
ABSTAIN: None

Joint Meeting 17 06/04/98
School Board/City Council
Minutes
