Also this would be nicer for the <br />appointees to be recognized at the beginning of the meeting. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala asked if the appointments have always been the Mayor's task? <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush said under the Government Code, when the Mayor's position became an <br />elected position, it became the Mayor's function to appoint, subject to ratification. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta said during her tenure, it has been a consensus process, where the Council <br />jointly interviews, but the Mayor makes the appointments. <br /> <br /> Mayor Tarver said this procedure could be revisited in the future.
