CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br /> <br /> City Clerk Peggy L. Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, Thomas P. Pico, <br />Jr. and Mayor Ben Tarver. Staff members present were: Deborah Acosta, City Manager; <br />Michael H. Roush, City Attorney; Brian W. Swift, Director of Planning and Community <br />Development; and Randall A. Lum, Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />3. CITY CONSIDERATION OF THE PROPOSED ZONE 7 POLICY ON EXPANSION OF <br /> WATER SERVICE BEYOND THE LIVERMORE-AMADOR VALLEY <br /> <br />a. Discussion on proposed Zone 7 water expansion proposal and potential agreement on <br /> language to be included in Zone 7 Water Expansion Policy including voter approval <br /> <br />b. Filing of Potential Lawsuit - Deadlines and necessary actions prior to April 1 <br /> <br />c. Initiative Process - Options available to the Livermore Amador Valley Communities <br /> Timelines/Dates for Initiative <br /> <br /> Randy Lum presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roush said one of the motivating forces has been the desire of the cities to talk about <br />certain issues relative to the water service extension policy. This includes water supply, <br />reliability, use of the main basin and the conditions under which Zone 7 might in the future <br />provide water service. As part of this agreement, Zone 7 has indicated its desire to continue <br />negotiations with the City of Pleasanton in an effort to find a mutually agreeable solution to <br />those issues. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 03/31/98 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
