CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-47 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION AND <br /> PURCHASE OF NEW 1500 GPM FIRE APPARATUS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in October 1987, Council authorized the Fire Chief to go <br /> to bid for replacement of a fire engine and related <br /> equipment; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bids were reviewed by the City Council on <br /> February 2, 1988; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Beck Fire Apparatus in the amount of <br /> $196,492.46 was determined to be the lowest responsible <br /> bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Chief recommended that the bid of Beck Fire <br /> Apparatus be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of Beck Fire Apparatus, in the amount of <br /> $196,492.46, for construction and purchase of a new 1500 <br /> GPM Fire Apparatus is hereby accepted by the City <br /> Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: Council authorizes the Director of Finance to <br /> purchase the apparatus through a lease/purchase program <br /> based on competitive bids from various lending <br /> institutions. <br /> <br />Section 3: Council authorizes the Fire Chief to call for and <br /> award bids for miscellaneous equipment as part of its <br /> approval, at a later date, not to exceed $20,000. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
