CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 88-16 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DETERMINING THAT A PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE SHALL BE FORMED IN CONNECTION WITH THE DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, AND CALLING UPON THE RESIDENTS, BUSINESSPERSONS AND MEMBERS OF EXISTING COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA TO FORM A REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 87-126, adopted on November 24, 1987, the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton selected and designated the boundaries of the Project Area for the Downtown Redevelopment Project (the "Project"), approved a Preliminary Plan for the redevelopment of the Project Area, and submitted the Preliminary Plan to the Pleasanton Community Development Agency (the "Agency"); and WHEREAS, the Agency is in the process of preparing a proposed Redevelopment Plan for the Project; and WHEREAS, Section 33385 of the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.) requires that a representative project area committee be approved by the City Council within 60 days after selection of project area boundaries, if a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families may be displaced by the Project; and WHEREAS, the Downtown Redevelopment Project for which the Agency is preparing a Redevelopment Plan may eventually displace a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines that the Downtown Redevelopment Project may, over a period of years, displace a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families, and that formation of a project area committee is required prior to adoption of the Redevelopment Plan. The City Council further determines that a project area committee within the meaning of Section 33385 of the Community Redevelopment Law shall be formed in connection with the Project. Section 2: The City Council calls upon the residents, businesspersons and existing community organizations in the Project Area to form a project area committee.
