CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-16 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DETERMINING THAT A PROJECT AREA <br /> COMMITTEE SHALL BE FORMED IN CONNECTION WITH <br /> THE DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT, AND <br /> CALLING UPON THE RESIDENTS, BUSINESSPERSONS <br /> AND MEMBERS OF EXISTING COMMUNITY <br /> ORGANIZATIONS WITHIN THE PROJECT AREA TO FORM <br /> A REPRESENTATIVE PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 87-126, adopted on November 24, 1987, <br /> the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br /> selected and designated the boundaries of the Project <br /> Area for the Downtown Redevelopment Project (the <br /> "Project"), approved a Preliminary Plan for the <br /> redevelopment of the Project Area, and submitted the <br /> Preliminary Plan to the Pleasanton Community Development <br /> Agency (the "Agency"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Agency is in the process of preparing a proposed <br /> Redevelopment Plan for the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 33385 of the California Community Redevelopment <br /> Law (Health and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.) <br /> requires that a representative project area committee be <br /> approved by the City Council within 60 days after <br /> selection of project area boundaries, if a substantial <br /> number of low- and moderate-income families may be <br /> displaced by the Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the downtown Redevelopment Project for which the Agency <br /> is preparing a Redevelopment plan may eventually <br /> displace a substantial number of low- and <br /> moderate-income families; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds and determines that the <br /> Downtown Redevelopment Project may, over a period of <br /> years, displace a substantial number of low- and <br /> moderate-income families, and that formation of a <br /> project area committee is required prior to adoption of <br /> the Redevelopment Plan. The City council further <br /> determines that a project area committee within the <br /> meaning of Section 33385 of the Community Redevelopment <br /> Law shall be formed in connection with the Project. <br /> <br /> <br />
