CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-303 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION REAFFIRMING CERTAIN POLICIES <br /> FORT HE NOVEMBER 8, 1988 MUNICIPAL ELRCTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 10012 of the Elections Code authorizes the <br /> City Council to establish certain charges for <br /> handling candidate election materials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, at its meeting of July 5, 1988, <br /> considered the options available under the above- <br /> mentioned section pertaining to the length of the <br /> candidate's statement, billing candidates the <br /> prorata cost of printing and mailing to voters the <br /> candidates' statements and setting rules and <br /> regulations for additional materials; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Candidates will be charged a prorata amount for <br /> the cost of printing their Statement of <br /> Qualifications. <br /> <br />Section 2: The candidate's Statement of Qualifications shall <br /> not exceed 200 words. <br /> <br />Section 3: No materials other than the voter's pamphlet and <br /> sample ballot shall be transmitted by the City <br /> Clerk to the voters. If a candidate wishes to send <br /> additional materials to the voters, it will have to <br /> be at the candidate's expense and by persons other <br /> than the City. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
