The purposes of our
study will be to explore the subsurfece conditions at the site end to provide opinions end
recommendations regarding foundation types crKJ depths for the proposed structure, and other
geotechnicol aspects of the project. We have visited the site end I~ve conducted e preliminory
review of references regarding the geology in the site vicinity.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The proposed soundwall is to be constructed along the east right-of-way line of Foothill Rood
between Stoneridge Drive and Ashwood Drive. It is our understanding that the wall will be of
masonry construction and will consist of three (3) sections with a total length of 6,000 feet.

No specific information regarding deed loads and wind loads is presently available; however, we
anticipate that loads will be light based on the proposed type of construction. The site is
relatively level and we anticipate that earthwork at the site will be limited to the excavation
and filling necessary to achieve the desired grade for placement of foundations.

SCOPE OF WORK

We propose to explore the subsurface conditions at the project site by drilling approximately
sixteen (I 6) exploratory borings to depths of approximately ten (10) feet. The final number and
depths of exploratory borings will be determined during the field exploration. Drive samples
will be taken during drilling operations, sealed in the field and returned to our laboraory for
additional examination and testing.

120 Spring Street · Pleasanton, CA 94566 · (415) 462-7080
