LIABILITY CLAINS ADJUSTING & ADI~INISTRATION <br /> <br /> SERVICE CON'~RACT <br /> <br /> This contract is made and entered into this day of , <br /> <br /> 1988, by and between the CITY OF PLEASANTON, hereinafter called the "CITY," <br /> and GEORGE HILLS COMPANY, INC., hereinafter referred to as the "CLAIM ADMINIS- <br /> TRATOR." <br /> <br /> GEORGE HILLS COMPANY, INC., is a California Corporation doing business <br />as licensed, independent insurance adjusters and administrators, with George <br />C. Hills, President and Chief Executive Officer, in charge of daily operations. <br />The company's principal place of business is located at 300 - 27th Street, <br />Oakland, California 94612, telephone (415) 465-1313. <br /> <br /> IT IS HEREBY AGREED by and between the parties signing this agreement <br />as follows: <br /> <br /> I. GENERkL <br /> <br /> The CITY is desirous of availing itself of liability claims adjusting <br />and administrative services. GEORGE HILLS COMPANY, INC., is a claim admin- <br />istrative firm experienced in the handling of public entity claims and is <br /> <br />ready and capable of performing such services for the CITY. <br /> II. SERVICES <br /> <br /> The CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR agrees to initiate prompt investigation. The <br />CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR will NOT accept any responsibility arising out of incidents <br /> <br />not reported to it for examination and review. <br /> III. REPORTS & PROCEDURES <br /> <br /> Within thirty (30) days of assignment, or sooner if practicable, the <br />CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR will provide the CITY with a full factual report, showing <br />name(s) of claimant(s), type of claim, date of loss, comments on liability, <br />reserve recommendations, settlement recommendations, and other pertinent <br />information. Subsequent to the initial thirty (30) day report, the CLAIM <br />ADMINISTRATOR will report at least every thirty (30) days until the claim <br />closes unless extended diary is appropriate. <br /> <br /> All original reports, documents, and claim data of every kind or descrip- <br />tion that are prepared in whole or in part by or for the CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR <br />in connection with this agreement shall be CITY'S property and constitute <br />the CLAIM ADMINISTRATOR'S work product for which compensation is paid.
