CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-230 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT EAST BAY <br /> REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT APPROVE A SPECIAL <br /> USE PERMIT FOR THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA <br /> OUTBOARD MOTORASSOCIATION FOR ONE <br /> WEEKEND IN OCTOBER 1987 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the East Bay Regional Park District has permitted <br /> outboard motor races to be held at Shadow Cliffs <br /> Regional Park one weekend per year for the past <br /> several years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, when the California Outboard Motor Association <br /> applied for a permit to hold their annual boat <br /> races in Shadow Cliffs, the East Bay Regional Park <br /> District contacted City staff for their input; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 17, 1988, the Council <br /> reviewed the report (SR 88:233) from the Director <br /> of Parks and Community Services regarding the <br /> impact of the annual boat race and recommendations <br /> from the Park and Recreation Commission; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council recommends that the East Bay <br /> Regional Park District approve a special use permit <br /> for the Northern California Outboard Motor <br /> Association to hold a Regatta the weekend of <br /> October 15 and 16, 1988, subject to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> <br /> a. East Bay Regional Park District not accept or <br /> consider any additional applications for use <br /> of Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area for <br /> power boat activities or events until the <br /> Master Plan for the park is completed; and <br /> <br /> b. Any consideration for permitting power boat <br /> use of Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area <br /> be limited to one weekend per year and to the <br /> hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
