CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-187 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTINGTHE CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, <br /> COASTAL AND PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988 <br /> (PROPOSITION 70) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this initiative would provide $776 million <br /> statewide to protect wildlife habitat, park lands <br /> and coastal areas and to provide recreational <br /> opportunities for the benefit of present and future <br /> generations of Californians; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council concurs with the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission of Pleasanton in finding that <br /> these lands are a vital and necessary part of our <br /> community and help to preserve the quality of life <br /> in the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these lands are an essential and irreplaceable part <br /> of our State's unique natural heritage and must be <br /> preserved; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton will receive $163,829 from <br /> the passage of the California Wildlife, Coastal and <br /> Park Land Conservation Act; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a statewide coalition of civic and conservation <br /> groups and businesses has formed as Californians <br /> for Parks and Wildlife to seek qualification and <br /> voter approval of the California Wildlife, Coastal <br /> and Park Land Initiative on the June, 1988 state <br /> ballot; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council of the City of Pleasanton does <br /> hereby support the California Wildlife, Coastal and <br /> Park Land Conservation Act of 1988. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
