In conclusion, Advantage Pleasanton is vital to Pleasanton
fulfilling its destiny as "the City of Planned Progress". A
comprehensive marketing program is needed to attract new
enterprises, compete with other cities and supply unbiased
information to business decision makers.

The Chamber of Commerce is the ideal facilitator of a marketing
program involving the City of Pleasanton, the development
community and local businesses. While the city staff is
developing an exceptional city, they do not have the time or
skills to communicate effectively with firms considering opening
a business here. Although developers and brokers work
extensively on marketing their projects, they do not have the
broad, unbiased perspective that the Chamber could offer.

Advantage Pleasanton is imperative-to creating Pleasanton's
planned business environment and assuring its economic
viability. The Chamber of Commerce should take on the role of
actively promoting Pleasanton by hiring an Advantage Pleasanton
manager and implementing a marketing program.

JSS/cm (21:853)
