Section 10. Holidays <br /> <br />10.1 Observed Holidays <br /> <br /> Effective March 1, 1988 the holidays to be observed are as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> a. January 1st. <br /> b. The third Monday in January known as "Martin Luther King <br /> Day" <br /> c. The third Monday in February, known as "Washington Day". <br /> d. The last Monday in May known as "Memorial Day". <br /> e. July 4th. <br /> f. The first Monday in September known as "Labor Day" <br /> g. The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as "Veterans <br /> Day". <br /> h. Thanksgiving Day. <br /> i. The Friday following Thanksgiving Day. <br /> j. Christmas Eve Day. <br /> k. December 25th. <br /> <br />10.2 Floating Holidays <br /> <br /> Three (3) floating holidays shall be credited to each employee on <br /> July 1 of each year to be observed on a date mutually agreed to <br /> by the individual employee and the Department Head. Such <br /> floating holidays shall be scheduled at least fifteen (15) days <br /> prior to the observances of such floating holiday and once <br /> scheduled may not be changed unless mutually agreed to by the <br /> employee and the Department Head. Such floating holidays shall <br /> be taken in the fiscal year in which it is credited. <br /> <br /> Persons who become full time employees after July 1 but prior to <br /> January 1 of any given fiscal year, shall be credited with one <br /> (1) floating holiday to be observed on a date mutually agreed to <br /> by the individual employee and the Department Head. Such <br /> floating holiday shall be scheduled at least fifteen (15) days <br /> prior to the observance of such floating holiday and once <br /> scheduled may not be changed unless mutually agreed to by the <br /> employee and the Department Head. Such floating holiday shall be <br /> taken in the fiscal year in which it is credited. <br /> <br />10.3 Holiday Observance Reqular Part-Time Employees <br /> <br /> Regular part-time employees shall receive time off with pay for <br /> holiday observances as follows: <br /> <br /> Regular part-time employees averaging between twenty (20) and <br /> twenty-nine (29) hours per week, four (4) hours pay for each <br /> fixed holiday observed by full time employees in the same or <br /> similar classification. In addition three (3), four (4) hour <br /> floating holidays shall be credited to each regular part-time <br /> <br /> - 18 - <br /> <br /> <br />
