CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. 88-324 ARESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON REQUESTING THE LOC/~LAGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 124 (BERNAL AVENUE AND ANGELA STREET EXTENSION) PI/RSUANT TO THE CORTESE-KNOX LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1985 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the annexation of approximately street right-of-way, Annexation No. 124, and requests initiation of proceedings thereon; and WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and a description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the affected city; and WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows: Since the City will own and maintain Bernal Avenue and Angela Street extensions, construction of these streets should be administered by the City to ensure our standards and needs are met. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda County is hereby requested to take proceedings for the annexation of territory as described in Exhibit "A", according to the terms and conditions stated above and in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985. Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
