CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 88-324 <br /> <br /> ARESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY <br /> OF PT~ASANTON REQUESTING THE LOC/~LAGENCY <br /> FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS <br /> FOR THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 124 <br /> (BERNAL AVENUE AND ANGELA STREET <br /> EXTENSION) PI/RSUANT TO THE CORTESE-KNOX <br /> LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF <br /> 1985 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate <br /> proceedings pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local <br /> Government Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, <br /> commencing with Section 56000 of the California <br /> Government Code, for the annexation of <br /> approximately street right-of-way, Annexation No. <br /> 124, and requests initiation of proceedings <br /> thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is <br /> uninhabited, and a description of the boundaries of <br /> the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached <br /> hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of <br /> influence of the affected city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> Since the City will own and maintain Bernal Avenue <br /> and Angela Street extensions, construction of these <br /> streets should be administered by the City to <br /> ensure our standards and needs are met. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda <br /> County is hereby requested to take proceedings for <br /> the annexation of territory as described in Exhibit <br /> "A", according to the terms and conditions stated <br /> above and in the manner provided by the <br /> Cortese-Knox Local Government Reorganization Act of <br /> 1985. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
