CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 88-569 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION AUT}{ORIZING USE OF OLD LIBRARY <br /> BUILDING AT 4333 BLACK AVENUE AS <br /> PRESCHOOL FACILITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since the construction of the new Pleasanton <br /> Library, Alameda County has vacated the old library <br /> building at 4333 Black Avenue; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in consideration of $100 plus release from lease <br /> responsibilities related to restoration of the site <br /> to its original condition, Alameda County has <br /> agreed to convey the building to the City for a use <br /> other than library services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, both the Park an Recreation Commission and Human <br /> Services Commission recommended the preschool use; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 6, 1988, Council <br /> reviewed the report of the Director of Parks and <br /> Community Services (SR 88:561) regarding various <br /> proposed uses for the site; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the assignment of use of the old Alameda <br /> County Library Building to the Department of Parks <br /> and Community Services for use as a preschool <br /> facility. <br /> <br />Section 2: Authorizes the removal of the two vacated <br /> buildings from City building inventory either by <br /> demolishing the buildings or selling them to a <br /> responsible bidder. <br /> <br />Section 3: Authorizes the allocation of $1,000 from the <br /> General Fund to pay for a consultant to complete a <br /> building evaluation, develop a work program and <br /> cost estimate for remodeling the facility to meet <br /> state regulations applied to child care <br /> facilities. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
