McMillan Jr. <br />October 5, 1988 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Task 2 - Complete the Preliminary Design <br /> <br />Upon acceptance by the City of the recommendation from Task l, or of <br />another alternative, the preliminary design of Turnout No. 5 will be <br />completed. A limited topographic survey of the site will be performed as <br />part of this task. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Meet with the City <br /> <br />Meet with the City to explain the preliminary design, and discuss and <br />resolve any problem in regard to the preliminary design. <br /> <br />Task 4 - Prepare Final Design <br /> <br />Following approval of the preliminary design by the City, the final design <br />for Turnout No, 5 will be prepared, <br /> <br />Task 5 - Prepare Bid Documents <br /> <br />Prepare bid documents including plans and specifications. The plans <br />showing all structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical work will be in <br />detail and in a manner to insure competitive bidding between contractors. <br /> <br />Bid and Caistructi~n Services <br /> <br />The following tasks will be performed by CDM, but only if specifically <br />requested by the City. <br /> <br />Task 6 - Respond to Bid Inquiries <br /> <br />Respond to the inquiries and clarification requests of the prospective <br />bidders and suppliers and prepare addenda, as required, to transmit <br />additional information to the bidders or for clarification of the bid <br />documents. <br /> <br />Task 7 -.Assist in the Evaluation of Construction Bids <br /> <br />Assist the City in evaluating bids and evaluating proposed substitutions <br />when substitution is permitted by the bidding documents. <br /> <br />Task 8 - Participate in Preconstruction Conference <br /> <br />Attend a preconstruction conference with the City and the construction <br />Contractor. Assist the City in reviewing the Contractor's proposed con- <br />struction schedule, identifying construction management procedures and <br />responsibilities, and evaluating critical delivery schedules and utility <br />coordination requirements. <br /> <br /> <br />
