CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 88-493 AUTHORIZATION TO OFFER ALAMEDA COUNTY ONE HUNDRED IXTZ~ AND A RET~ASE FROM T~ASE OBLIGATIONS FOR TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP OF THE OLD LIBRARY BUILDING FROM ALAMEDA COUNTY TO THE CITY OF PT~ASANTON WHEREAS, on October 31, 1972, the C~unty of Alameda and the City of Pleasanton entered into an agreement allowing the County of Alameda to place a building to be used for library purposes only in Amador Valley Community Park; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has constructed a permanent library building to serve the community; and WHEREAS, the County of Alameda will soon be moving library services from the old library building located in hador Valley Community Park thereby vacating that building; and WHEREAS, the County of Alameda by terms of the Lease Agreement is obligated to remove the library building from Amador Valley Community Park within 60 days of the termination of the lease; and WHEREAS, the County of Alameda will incur considerable expense to either demolish or move the old library building and to remove the foundation and restore the premises to a clean and acceptable condition as per Item No. 6 of the facility lease agreement; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has need for the soon to be vacated library building for other public uses; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Authorizes the City Manager to offer Alameda County One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and a release from the lease obligations, as stated in Item No. 6 of the facility lease agreement, in return for transfer of ownership of the library building now located in Amador Valley Community Park from Alameda County to the City of Pleasanton.
