CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY1 OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-199 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING PURCHASE OF <br /> EQUIPMENT TO EXPAND POLICE RADIO DISPATCH <br /> CONSOLE AND APPROVING EXPENDITURES FOR <br /> THE INST~IJATION THEREOF <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in August 1988, the City Council authorized funding <br /> from the Capital Improvement Program for the <br /> purchase of a Computer Aided Dispatch system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said system was purchased from Motorola <br /> Communications and Electronics, Inc.; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the police department has requested to purchase <br /> additional, compatible equipment from Motorola in <br /> order to expand the police radio dispatch console <br /> in connection with the CAD system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Motorola Communications and Electronics, Inc. has <br /> submitted its proposal for the necessary equipment <br /> and Alameda County, under a pre-existing agreement <br /> for service of the police computer equipment, has <br /> agreed to install the equipment for approximately <br /> $8,000; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby waives formal bidding <br /> procedures with respect to the purchase of this <br /> equipment on the basis that this equipment is <br /> highly specialized and hereby approves expenditure <br /> of $141,865.31 for the purchase of equipment to <br /> expand the police radio dispatch console. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Council approves the further expenditure <br /> of approximately $8,000 to the Alameda County <br /> General Services Agency, pursuant to the City's <br /> existing agreement with the County, for the <br /> installation of said equipment. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
