CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 89-175

RESOLUTION APPROVING POLICY OPTION 2 FOR
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR A TRAFFIC STUDY
OF NORTH PI~ASANTON

WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 4, 1989, Council reviewed
the report of the Director of Public. Works and
Utilities (SR 89:133) regarding a review of
"Standard Requirements" for a Traffic Study of
North Pleasanton, a copy of which is attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference;
and

WHEREAS, three policy options were presented to the Council
for selection;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: Approves Policy Option 2 as follows:

"This option presumes that the North Pleasanton
building occupancy as it existed before AT&T
vacated its various buildings in moving into its
new headquarters is more typical of what to expect
for trip generation (311 sq. ft. per employee) and
uses the Trip information taken form the 1988 TSM
Surveys and factors it for arrival-departure,
vehicle occupancy and employees not leaving from
work.

This data base then produces a PM peak hour trip
rate of 1.33 trips per 1,000 sq. ft. of occupied
floor space and an AM peak trip rate of 1.51."

This policy also includes an assumption of 95%
occupancy rate.

Section 2: This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
