CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-163 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION EXTENDING CONTRACT AWARD <br /> PERIOD FOR THIRTY DAYS FOR THE CROSS-TOWN <br /> INTERCEPTOR SEWER PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for <br /> the Cross-Town Interceptor Sewer Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., <br /> the City Engineering Services Division advertised <br /> for bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on April 4, <br /> 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bids of MJB Pipeline and McGuire and Hester <br /> were determined to be the lowest responsible bids; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works. and Utilities <br /> recommended that the staff be authorized to <br /> investigate possible financing programs and <br /> recommend a specific financing plan at the next <br /> Council meeting and both contractors have agreed to <br /> extend their bid guarantees for an additional 30 <br /> days; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bids of MJB Pipeline and McGuire and Hester <br /> are accepted as the two lowest bids for the subject <br /> project. <br /> <br />Section 2: All other bids are hereby rejected. <br /> <br />Section 3: The contract award period is extended for up to <br /> an additional thirty (30) days. <br /> <br />Section 4: Authorizes staff to investigate possible <br /> financing plans that will permit construction of <br /> the complete Cross-Town Interceptor Sewer Project. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
