CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-119 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THAT THE <br /> PT~ASANTON COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY <br /> ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS TO ~LI.RVIATE <br /> FINANCIAL BURDEN OR DETRIMENT CAUSED TO <br /> THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA, THE EAST BAY <br /> REGIONAL PARK DISTRICT AND THE ALAMEDA <br /> COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS BY THE <br /> DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Community Development Agency (the <br /> "Agency") has prepared a proposed redevelopment <br /> plan (the "Redevelopment Plan") for adoption by the <br /> City Council of the City of Pleasanton pursuant to <br /> the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health <br /> and Safety Code Section 33000 et seq.); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Alameda (the "County"), the East Bay <br /> Regional Park District (the "Park District") and <br /> the Alameda County Superintendent of Schools (the <br /> "Superintendent") are taxing entities with <br /> territory located within the boundaries of the <br /> Project (the "Project Area"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if the Redevelopment Plan is adopted, then pursuant <br /> to Article XVI, Section 16, of the California <br /> Constitution, Section 33670 et seq. of the Health <br /> and Safety Code and the proposed Redevelopment <br /> Plan, increases in the assessed values of the <br /> property within the Project Area above the sum of <br /> the assessed values as shown on the 1988-89 <br /> assessment roll (the "Base Year Roll") will result <br /> in that portion of property taxes levied each year <br /> on such increases in assessed values, less amounts <br /> received by affected taxing entities pursuant to <br /> Section 33676 of the Health and Safety Code, being <br /> paid to the Agency as tax increments ("tax <br /> increments") to pay the principal of and interest <br /> on loans, monies advanced to or indebtedness <br /> incurred by the Agency to finance or refinance, in <br /> whole or in part, redevelopment in accordance with <br /> the Redevelopment Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 33401 of the Health and Safety Code <br /> authorizes redevelopment agencies to pay to any <br /> taxing agency with territory located within a <br /> project area any amounts of money which the agency <br /> <br /> -1- <br /> <br /> <br />
