PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. 2484 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A <br />GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />AS FILED UNDER CASE GP-84-6 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to change the General <br />Plan designation of the approximately 17 acre City <br />Corporation Yard located at 5335 Sunol Boulevard and <br />the approximately 20.5 acre City-owned parcel located <br />west of the corporation yard immediately west of the <br />SPRR right-of-way from "Public and Institutional" <br />and "General and Limited Industrial" to "Public and <br />Institutional", "Parks and Recreation" and "High density <br />Residential." The Planning Commission may recommend <br />any action on this application deemed in the public <br />interest; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing after considering <br />all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations <br />of the City staff, the Planning Commission recommended <br />approval of the mitigated negative declaration prepared <br />for this application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission felt it would be appropriate <br />to have the property shown on the north side of the <br />new road shown on the Preliminary Master Plan (Exhibit <br />"A") extending west from Mission Drive be shown as <br />10 acres of senior housing, 7 acre park, 3 acre senior <br />center, and four acres for an intermed~late care center <br />and therefore that a general plan amendment would <br />be in the public's best interest. <br />Section 1 The Planning Commission recommends that the 24 acre <br />site located north of the new road shown on the Preliminary <br />Master Plan extending west from Mission Drive be changed <br />from "Public and Institutional" and "General and Limited <br />Industrial" to "Public and Institutional", "Parks <br />and Recreation" and "High Density Residential." This <br />recommendation is made subject to the following condition: <br />1. That an acoustical analysis shall be carried out <br />in conjunction with the design reivew of buildings <br />on the 10 acre subject site to determine noise <br />levels generated by the Western Pacific rail line <br />and methods for attenuating that noise if it proves <br />to be unacceptable. <br />
