CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-88 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION CALLING FOR A SPECIAL <br /> EreCTION REGARDING THE DOWNTOWN <br /> Pt~ASANTON DOWNTOWN Pf~ASANTON <br /> REDEVELOPMENT PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council on December 6, 1988 and on <br /> February 21, 1989 reviewed documents and heard <br /> testimony concerning the proposed Redevelopment <br /> Plan for Downtown Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there were a number of speakers and a number of <br /> written comments in opposition to the Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, several years ago, the voters of Pleasanton voted <br /> not to have Redevelopment on a city-wide basis; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City Council believes that it is in the best <br /> interest of the community for the voters to <br /> consider the wisdom of having a Redevelopment Plan <br /> for Downtown Pleasanton; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Council determines that a Special <br /> Election should be held, to be placed on the <br /> June 1989 or November 1989 ballot, at which time' <br /> the voters will be asked whether or not to approve <br /> the Redevelopment Plan for Downtown Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
