' PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2399 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING A GENERAL PLAN <br />CHANGE FOR THE WEST SIDE OF PETERS AVENUE AS <br />FILED UNDER CASE GP-83-9 <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has applied to change the general plan land <br />use designation for the tier of lots adjacent to the western right-of-way <br />line of Peters Avenue between St. John Street and Bernal Avenue from <br />"High Density Residential" to "Commercial and Offices" or to any <br />other designation deemed in the public interest; and <br />WHEREAS, this matter was continued from the duly noticed public hearings of <br />October 12, 1983 and November 9, 1983 to allow the Planning Commission <br />to meet with the Park and Recreation Commission due to their desire <br />to find a park in the area west of Peters Avenue; and <br />WHEREAS, a joint meeting was held on November 21, 1983 at which testimony <br />was received from all interested parties; and <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission explained their reasoning for <br />wanting a park either at the southwest corner of Peters Avenue and <br />Division Street or at the southwest corner of Peters and Rose Avenues; <br />- and <br />WHEREAS, the Park and Recreation Commission has already recommended to the <br />City Council that their first choice for a park would be Peters Avenue <br />and Division Street with Peters Avenue and Rose being their second <br />choice; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 28, 1983 the Planning <br />Commission considered this subject in conjunction with case GP-83-9. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends the property described in case GP-83-9 be changed from <br />High Density Residential to Commercial and Offices except for the <br />parcel shown as "D" on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A" which <br />shall be designated Open Space Parks and Recreation. <br />Section 2. Recommends that at the time rezoning is considered for this property, <br />it is the intentiion of the Planning Commission that this property <br />be rezoned "PUD-Office." <br />Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage <br />and adoption. <br />
