CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ,/~~' ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ~ ~'^~ ORDINANCE N0. ~(" AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO COMPACT CAR PARKING SPACES AMENDING SUBSECTION a., SECTION 2-9.17 (Standards for Off-Street Parking Facilities) ARTICLE 16 (Ofd-Street Parking Facilities), CHAPTER 2 (ZONING), TITLE II (ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT) OF THE ORDINANCE CODE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANT ON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subsection a., Section 2-9.17 (Stndards for Off-street Parking Facilities), Article 16 (Off-Street Parking Facilities), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II (Zoning and Development of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is amended to read as follows: a. The minimum off-street parking dimensions shall be prescribed in the following table, except that a parking space required to be located in a garage or carport shall not be less than 20 feet in length and ten feet in width and that "compact car" spaces with minimum dimensions of 8.0 feet by 16.0 feet and an aisle width of 21 feet at a 90o parking angle with relevent dimensions reduced proportionaoely from the table below at parking angles of less than 90 shall be allowed for a proportion of total required spaces. The proportion of compact spaces allowed shall be based upon the size, shape and design of parking facilities. Larger parking facilities with relatively less impediments to the free flow of traffic shall be allowed a greater proportion of "compact car" spaces up to a maximum of 50% of total required spaces. In no event shall parking facilities of less than 100 spaces be allowed more than 30% "compact car" spaces. Each compact car space shall be marked clearly with bold lettering no less than eight inches in height "Compact Car Only." Section 2. This ordinance shall be published once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton. Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its final passage and adoption.
