PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 2202 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE REALIGNMENT OF JOHNSON DRIVE/OLD HOPYARD ROAD WHEREAS, as a result of the proposed reconstruction of the Johnson Drive/Hopyard Road intersection and because Johnson Drive will become a major entrance to Phase II of the Hacienda Business Park, Johnson Drive/Old Hopyard Road needs to be widened and realigned east of Hopyard Road. Attached are plans which show the new design of the Johnson Drive/Hopyard Road intersection and the improvements which will be necessary to the road system east of that intersection. In general, Johnson Drive would be widened encroaching into both the Shell service station and Mobil service station properties. Johnson Drive would continue east as a major street with Old Hopyard Road becoming a cul-de-sac to the north of that thoroughfare. The entrance to the cul-de-sac would be moved eastward from it's present location thereby creating the potential for the enlarge- ment of the W. R. Grace property (the small commercial building containing the Mexican delicatessen, video shop, You All Come Back Saloon, etc.); and WHEREAS, because the taking of a portion of the Shell and Mobil Service Station properties could involve condemnation, the Planning Commission is aware of the proposed widening and realignment of Johnson Drive/Old Hopyard Road; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of July 28, 1962 the Planning Commission considered the exhibits furnished by the engineers for the project and heard testimony regarding this. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Recommends approval of the realignment of Johnson Drive/Old Hopyard Road as described above. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. ///
