r~~.~ <br />MACRO <br />co~poratlon <br />>» <br />A KEMA Company <br />May 17, 2007 <br />James Piper, Assistant City Manager <br />City Manager's Office <br />1052 South Livermore Ave. <br />Livermore, CA 94550 <br />Re: Development of Additional Alternatives under Task 2 <br />Dear Mr. Piper: <br />Following the presentation of our Task 2 report on May 7th, the two cities requested further <br />development of three possible radio system alternatives in addition to those provided in our <br />Task 2 efforts. <br />These new alternatives were as follows: <br />New Alternative 1 - "Quick Fix" (replace/refurbish oldest system components; reuse <br />remaining) <br />New Alternative 2 - `Quick Fix" with recommended coverage improvements <br />(improves coverage in Springtown and southwest Pleasanton) <br />New Alternative 3 -Replacement System, with migration path to earlier Task Z <br />Alternative B/C (also improves coverage in Springtown and southwest Pleasanton) <br />New Alternative 3 would be similar to the earlier Task 2 Alternative A (Status Quo), but <br />would design the system to permit integration with the EBRCS at some future time.
