PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. 2248
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMIISSION OF THE
CITY OF PLEASANTOPd RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A
GENERAL PLAIQ AMENDMENT FILED BY THE DIOCESE OF
OAKLAND UNDER CASE GP-82-11
WHEREAS, the Diocese of Oakland has applied to amend the General Plan
designation of approximately 13 acres of land located
on the south side of Bernal Avenue extension immediately
west of the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks from "High
Density Residential" to "Commercial and Offices;" and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of December 8, 1982
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony
and relevant documents concerning this case including
review of the recent history of land use and zoning
changes made by the City and plea of the property owner
that the property be designated as "Commercial and
Offices" rather than "High Density Residential;" and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission considered the staff's opinion that
the entire area on the south side of Bernal Avenue
extension between the two railroad rights-of-way would
be a good site for "High Density Residential" because the
City does need housing sites to accommodate the employees
who will ultimately work in the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING:
Section 1. Recommends Case GP-82-11 be denied and that the 13 acres
of land located on the south side of Bernal Avenue
extension immediately west of the Southern Pacific Railroad
tracks remain "High Density Residential."
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
ON THE 8TH DAY OF DECEMBER 1982 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE:
AYES: Commissioners Getty, Jamieson, Wilson and Chairperson Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
DATE: December 8, 1982
ATTEST:
Robert H ris, Secretary
APPROVED AS TO FORM:
~i~~
~~ CG ~'
rian W.
