PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON COUNTY OF ALAMEDA STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 2143/1 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DENYING APPROVAL OF A FREE-STANDING SIGN LOCATED AT 235 MAIN STREET AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-82-14. WHEREAS, William A. Hirst (Downtown Centre) has applied to retain an approximately 4 ft, by 8 ft. sign located on the Downtown Centre property at 235 Main Street; and WHEREAS, the property is zoned C-C/C-O (Central Commercial/Civic Overlay) District; and WHEREAS, the sign has been installed on the Downtown Centre property at 235 Main Street without benefit of a City permit; and WHEREAS, the sign identifies the temporary home of Amador Valley Savings and Loan Association in one of the Downtown Centre buildings and the owners of the property are requesting permission to retain the sign; and WHEREAS, Amador Valley Savings and Loan office is not a normal savings and loan facility in that no monetary transactions are taking place on the premises at this time; and WHEREAS, it is used simply for the purposes of organizing the savings and loan association and providing information to prospective customers; and WHEREAS, the date of the construction of the permanent Amador Valley Savings and Loan building is unknown at this time. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: Section 1. Denies case Z-82-14 inasmuch as approval would be pre- cedent setting, the construction date of the Amador Valley Savings and Loan permanent structure is unknown at this time and the Commission requires the applicant to remove the sign at the earliest possible time. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective 15 days from its passage and adoption.
