PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2170 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br />RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF A REZONING AS <br />FILED BY THE CITY OF PLEASANTON UNDER <br />CASE RZ-82-7 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to rezone approximately <br />8.8 acres of land (.4323 and 4365 Valley Avenue) located on <br />the north side of Valley Avenue adjacent and to the west of <br />Valley Plaza Shopping Center from the "A" (Agricultural) <br />and R-1-6500 (.Single-family Residential) Districts to the <br />PUD (.Planned Unit Development) High Density Residential <br />District or to any other zoning district consistent with <br />the General Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the property described above recently had its General Plan <br />designation changed from Medium Density Residential to High <br />Density Residential; and <br />WHEREAS, the current zoning on the property is "A" (Agricultural) <br />District and R-1-6500 (.Single-family Residential) District <br />and this zoning should be changed to bring it into conformance <br />with the new General Plan land use designation; and <br />WHEREAS, the site is composed of two separate parcels - a 1.78 acre <br />parcel zoned R-1-6500 and a 7.01 acre parcel zoned <br />Agricultural; and <br />WHEREAS, an environmental impact report was prepared and approved for <br />the General Plan change on the subject site and the environmental <br />issues discussed in that document are relevant to this current <br />application; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Staff recommends PUD-High Density Residential zoning <br />on the subject property would be in conformance with the <br />General Plan designation of the site and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission finds the PUD-High Density Residential <br />zoning does conform to the General Plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends that the 8.8 acre site located on the north <br />side of Valley Avenue immediately west of the Valley Plaza <br />shopping center be rezoned from the "A" (Agricultural) District <br />and the R-1-6500 (Single-family Residential) District to the <br />PUD (.Planned Unit Development)-High Density Residential District. <br />
