CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 89-27 <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO <br /> SMOEMATE CONSTRUCTION, FOR PHASE I OF THE <br /> OPERATIONS SERVICE CENTER, PRE-ENGINEERED <br /> METAL BUILDINGS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for <br /> Phase I of the Operations Service Center, Pre- <br /> engineered Metal Buildings; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., <br /> the City Engineering Services Division advertised <br /> for bids regarding this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on <br /> January 17, 1989; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the low bidder, Grossman Construction, requested to <br /> be excused from the bid because of an error that <br /> was discovered after the bid opening; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the bid of Shoemate Construction, in the amount of <br /> $1,205,838.00 was determined to be the second <br /> lowest responsible bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities <br /> recommended that the bid of Shoemate Construction <br /> be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The low bidder, Grossman Construction, is hereby <br /> excused from their bid. <br /> <br />Section 2: The bid of Shoemate Construction, in the amount <br /> of $1,205,838.00 (base bid plus Alternate No. 3), <br /> for Phase I of the Operations Service Center, Pre- <br /> engineered Metal Buildings, is hereby accepted by <br /> the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. <br /> <br />Section 3: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract <br /> with Shoemate Construction, Inc. for the <br /> improvements specified above. <br /> <br />Section 4: Authorizes the Director of Public Works to <br /> negotiate a change order with Shoemate Construction <br /> for the desire architectural changes to the <br /> administration building. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective <br /> immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
