CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 89-27 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SMOEMATE CONSTRUCTION, FOR PHASE I OF THE OPERATIONS SERVICE CENTER, PRE-ENGINEERED METAL BUILDINGS WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for Phase I of the Operations Service Center, Pre- engineered Metal Buildings; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on January 17, 1989; and WHEREAS, the low bidder, Grossman Construction, requested to be excused from the bid because of an error that was discovered after the bid opening; and WHEREAS, the bid of Shoemate Construction, in the amount of $1,205,838.00 was determined to be the second lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Shoemate Construction be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The low bidder, Grossman Construction, is hereby excused from their bid. Section 2: The bid of Shoemate Construction, in the amount of $1,205,838.00 (base bid plus Alternate No. 3), for Phase I of the Operations Service Center, Pre- engineered Metal Buildings, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 3: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with Shoemate Construction, Inc. for the improvements specified above. Section 4: Authorizes the Director of Public Works to negotiate a change order with Shoemate Construction for the desire architectural changes to the administration building. Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
