PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2725 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING <br />DENIAL OF AN ORDINANCE GOVERNING USE OF SKATEBOARD <br />RAMPS IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />RZ-85-16 <br />WHEREAS, on July 24, 1985, the Board of Adjustment granted a <br />variance to allow a skateboard ramp to remain at 387 <br />Ewing Drive. Although the user's neighbors were <br />adamantly opposed to retention of the ramp the Board of <br />Adjustment approved the variance in order to condition <br />its use, hopefully to reduce its impact; and <br />WHEREAS, when the use of the ramp continued to be bothersome <br />after approval of the variance, the neighbors asked the <br />City Council to ban skateboard ramps so no other <br />neighborhood would be affected in like manner as theirs. <br />The City Council directed staff to review this matter <br />and propose modifications the Zoning ordinance to ban <br />new skateboard ramps in residential districts; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 13, <br />1985, the Planning Commission considered all public <br />testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the <br />City staff concerning this application; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission felt there are existing <br />sufficient laws in the City of Pleasanton to control <br />noise and public nuisance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends denial of Case RZ-85-16 which would ban <br />skateboards in residential districts of the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br />Section 2.
