PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2785 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING APPROVAL THE PROPOSED <br />REVISIONS TO THE PLEASANTON POST OFFICE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, based on a recommendation by the <br />Planning Commission, directed Kaye Wellman and the <br />Planning staff to form a Postal_Service Committee to <br />investigate specifi is nterm and long-term actions to <br />improve postal service in the City. <br />WHEREAS, after five months of investigation, numerous meetings, <br />and working sessions with the post office, the Committee <br />has prepared this report and recommendations; and <br />WHEREAS, the Postal Service Committee Report presents the <br />findings of three subcommittees which investigated the <br />following areas of post office concerns: 1) general <br />postal service in Pleasanton; 2) traffic circulation at <br />the post office facility on Black Avenue; 3) location of <br />an additional post office in north Pleasanton. It <br />recommends specific changes to the existing site plan of <br />the post office, describes in detail various possible <br />locations for an additional post office and analyzes <br />current and proposed postal service; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of April 23, 1986, <br />the Planning Commission reviewed the proposed site plan <br />presented by the Committee. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of all of the recommendations <br />made by the Postal Committee as stated in the staff <br />report of April 23, 1986. <br />Section 2. Recommends to the City Council approval of the <br />proposed site plan for the Post Office as follows: <br />1. An increase in the number of parking stalls from 31 <br />to 41 stalls (32$ increase). <br />2. A driveway onto Santa Rita Road to facilitate <br />exiting. <br />3. Relocation of the parking lot driveway exit on Black <br />Avenue near Santa Rita Road relocated farther west. <br />
