(Ord. 1819 § 2, 2001) <br />2.29.020 Duties: <br />A. The commission shall advise the <br />city council on matters related to the <br />youth of the community. <br />B. The duties of the Pleasanton youth <br />commission shall include the following: <br />1. Make recommendations to the city <br />council regazding policies, services and <br />issues related to the youth of the com- <br />munity. <br />2. Act as the "voice" of the communi- <br />ty. <br />3. Act as a communication liaison be- <br />tween Pleasanton's youth community and <br />the city council. <br />4. Research the needs and interest of <br />Pleasanton's youth. Promote an under- <br />standing and appreciation of community <br />affairs among the youth of Pleasanton. <br />5. Identify and report to the city coun- <br />cil on youth needs and priorities in the <br />city of Pleasanton and remain informed <br />regarding the programs providing youth <br />services to the community. <br />6. Reseazch and formulate proposed <br />policies, programs and services designed <br />to meet the needs of the youth community <br />in Pleasanton. <br />7. Review and evaluate requests re- <br />ceived by the city for youth related poli- <br />cies and services. <br />8. Represent the city and maintain <br />liaison with the youth commissions in <br />other cities and with youth related agen- <br />cies in Pleasanton and other cities. (Ord. <br />1819 § 2, 2001) <br />2.29.030 Memberships; <br />Appointments: <br />A. The commission shall have eleven <br />(11) regulaz commissioners and three (3) <br />alternate commissioners all of whom shall <br />be residents of the city. <br />B. The eleven (11) youth commission- <br />ers shall include: one student from <br />Amador Valley High School, one student <br />from Foothill High School, one student <br />from Harvest Park Middle School, one <br />student from Pleasanton Middle School, <br />one student from Thomas S. Hart Middle <br />School, one student from Village High <br />School, four (4) at-large student represen- <br />tatives from grades eight (8) through <br />twelve (12) and one adult commissioner <br />shall be selected from the community at <br />lazge. <br />C. The two (2) alternate youth repre- <br />sentatives shall be from grades eight (8) <br />28-3 (Pleasanton February 2002) <br />
