2.32.030 <br />2.32.030 Membership; Appointments: <br />A. The commission shall have five (5) <br />regulaz commissioners, and one alternate <br />commissioner all of whom shall be resi- <br />dents of the city. <br />B. The five (5) regular commissioners <br />and the one alternate commissioner shall <br />be selected from the community at lazge. <br />The regulaz commissioners and alternate <br />commissioner shall be appointed by the <br />mayor, subject to the ratification by the <br />city council, as provided in the adopted <br />city council resolution establishing pro- <br />cedures for appointments to boards and <br />commissions. <br />C. Commissioners shall be eligible to <br />participate in all activities of the commis- <br />sion except that the alternate commission- <br />er shall vote only in the event of an ab- <br />sence or conflict of interest of one of the <br />regular commissioners. <br />D. The alternate commissioner may <br />serve as a voting member on any subcom- <br />mittee of the commission and may be <br />designated as the commission's represen- <br />tative to other boards and commissions. <br />E. Commissioners shall be compen- <br />sated as established by city council reso- <br />lution. (Ord. 1819 § 1, 2001) <br />2.32.040 Term Of Membership: <br />A. Regular commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve a maximum of eight (8) <br />years with two (2) 4-yeaz terms. <br />B. Alternate commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve four (4) yeaz terms and <br />are not subject to a limit in the number of <br />years served. <br />C. The term of a commissioner shall be <br />consistent with and subject to city council <br />resolution concerning limiting service on <br />boazds and commissions. (Ord. 1819 § 1, <br />2001) <br />2.32.050 Maintenance Of <br />Membership: <br />A. Persons appointed to the commis- <br />sion shall continue to serve as members <br />of the commission except when: <br />1. The commissioner's term of office <br />on the commission expires; <br />2. The commissioner voluntarily re- <br />signs from the commission; <br />3. The commissioner is absent from <br />one-third ('/3) of the regular meetings <br />within a six (6) month period as provided <br />in subsection C of this section; <br />4. The commissioner fails to maintain a <br />primary residence in the city; <br />5. The commissioner is employed by <br />the city in a capacity related to the duties <br />of the commission. <br />B. The secretary of the commission <br />shall inform the council when any of the <br />above occurs. <br />C. The following procedures shall <br />apply to termination of office as a result <br />of absences from commission meetings: <br />1. At the end of each six (6) month <br />period, the secretary of the commission <br />shall report the attendance record of each <br />member of the commission to the city <br />manager, who shall transmit the record to <br />the city council. <br />2. The city manager shall notify, in <br />writing, any commissioner who has been <br />absent from one-third ('/3) or more of the <br />regular meetings during the course of a <br />six (6) month period and request that the <br />commissioner submit, in writing, to the <br />(Pleasanton Apri12001) 32 <br />
