1.10.050 1.10.050 Consultants: Consultants shall be designated on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the nature of their services. The city man- ager may determine, in writing, that a particular consultant, although a "desig- nated position", is hired to perform a range of duties that is limited in scope and thus is not required to fully comply with the disclosure requirements de- scribed in this chapter. Such written determination shall include a descrip- tion of the consultant's duties and, based upon that description, a statement of the extent of the disclosure require- ments. The city manager's determina- tion shall be a public record and shall be retained for public inspection in the same manner and location as this chap- ter. (Ord. 1573 § 1, 1992) 1.10.060 Relatives Of Designated Officials And Employees: Any official or employee designated in section 1.10.040 of this chapter must disqualify himself or herself from mak- ing or participating in the making of any decisions which will foreseeably have a material financial effect, distin- guishable from its effect on the public generally, on any economic interest, as defined in Government Code section 87103, of such official's or employee's relative, the existence of which an official or employee has knowledge or reason to know. A relative shall mean a father, mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew by blood or marriage. No official or employee shall be prevented from making or participat- ing in the making of any decision to the extent that his or her participation is legally required for the decision to be made.
