(Ord. 1676 § 2, 1996) ted to furthering public art and the cultur- al life of the community. B. Members shall be compensated as established by City Council resolution. (Ord. 1786 § 1, 1999; Ord. 1676 § 2, 1996) 2.39.030 Appointment: Members shall be appointed to the Commission in accordance with the adopted City resolution establishing pro- cedures for appointments to City boards and commissions. (Ord. 1676 § 2, 1996) 2.39.040 Meetings: The Commission shall attempt to meet on a monthly basis at a predetermined time and place, but shall meet at least four (4) times each calendar year. (Ord. 1676 § 2, 1996) 2.39.020 Membership; Compensation: A. The Civic Arts Commission shall be comprised of seven (7) members and an alternate. One member shall be a member of the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council. At least two (2) members shall be work- ing artists. "Working artists" shall be de- fined asthose persons who have enjoyed success in the exhibition of their works and enjoy the professional respect of their peers, or are engaged as instructors of art, or have been engaged as art museum directors, gallery curators or docents, or art consultants. (Ord. 1676 § 2, 1996) 2.39.060 Organization: A. Within thirty (30) days after their appointment, the members shall meet and elect a chair and vice chair. Thereafter, the members shall each January elect a chair and vice chair. B. The Director of Parks and Commu- nity Services, or the Director's designee, shall staff the Commission.
