3.32.010 Chapter 3.32 ALTERNATIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES UNDER THE UNIFORM PUBLIC CONSTRUC- TION COST ACCOUNTING ACT Sections: 3.32.010 Contracting Proce- dures For Public Projects 3.32.020 Contractors List 3.32.030 Notice Inviting Informal Bids 3.32.040 Award Of Contracts 3.32.010 Contracting Procedures For Public Projects: A. Public projects of twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) or less may be performed by the employees of the City by force account, by negotiated contract or by purchase order. B. Public projects of seventy five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) or less may be let to contract by informal pro- cedures as set forth in section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code. C. Public projects of more than sev- enty five thousand dollars ($75,000.00) shall, except as otherwise set forth in section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code, be let to contract by formal bidding procedure. (Ord. 1523 § 1, 1991) 3.32.020 Contractors List: A. A list of contractors shall be developed and maintained in accor- dance with the provisions of section 22034 of the Public Contract Code and criteria promulgated from time to time by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commission. B. The Director of Public Works and Utilities shall each January mail a no- tice to all contractors who have an office in the City, who have a current City business license, but who are not already on the list as set forth in sub- section A of this Section, informing such contractor of the existence of this Chapter and encouraging such contrac- tor to request to be put on the list. Where a public project is to be performed which is subject to the pro- visions of subsection 3.32.OlOB of this Chapter, a notice inviting informal bids shall be mailed to all contractors for the category of work to be bid, as shown on the list developed in accordance with Section 3.32.020 of this Chapter, and to all construction trade journals as specified by the California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Commis- sion in accordance with section 22036 of the Public Contract Code.
