2.38.110 <br />2.38.110 Duties: <br />A. The Commission shall be responsi- <br />ble to advise the City Council regarding <br />the affordable housing needs of the com- <br />munity and the methods whereby said <br />needs may be met. <br />B. To carry out its responsibilities, the <br />Commission shall do the following: <br />1. Initiate and pursue opportunities for <br />developing affordable housing within the <br />City. <br />2. Cooperate with the private housing <br />industry, City commissions and regional <br />agencies to produce new affordable hous- <br />ing and/or to maintain existing affordable <br />housing. <br />3. Make recommendations to the City <br />Council and/or establish policies regard- <br />ing affordable housing projects affiliated <br />with the City and the Housing Authority <br />including preference and eligibility crite- <br />ria for City assisted housing, informa- <br />tional documents, available grant applica- <br />tions, and new affordable housing pro- <br />grams. <br />4. In cooperation with the Human Ser- <br />vices Commission, review and make rec- <br />ommendations to the City Council regard- <br />ing community development block grant <br />applications for capital improvement and <br />rehabilitation projects. <br />5. Coordinate the property and finan- <br />cial management and tenant related issues <br />at affordable housing projects under the <br />control of the City and/or the Housing <br />Authority of the City, including Ridge <br />View Commons and Kottinger Place. <br />6. Review and make recommendations <br />to the City Council regarding the annual <br />operating budget for the City's Lower <br />Income Housing Fund. <br />7. Appoint the resident representatives <br />to the Housing Authority Commission <br />and Commission liaisons to affordable <br />housing projects.
