2.38.110 2.38.110 Duties: A. The Commission shall be responsi- ble to advise the City Council regarding the affordable housing needs of the com- munity and the methods whereby said needs may be met. B. To carry out its responsibilities, the Commission shall do the following: 1. Initiate and pursue opportunities for developing affordable housing within the City. 2. Cooperate with the private housing industry, City commissions and regional agencies to produce new affordable hous- ing and/or to maintain existing affordable housing. 3. Make recommendations to the City Council and/or establish policies regard- ing affordable housing projects affiliated with the City and the Housing Authority including preference and eligibility crite- ria for City assisted housing, informa- tional documents, available grant applica- tions, and new affordable housing pro- grams. 4. In cooperation with the Human Ser- vices Commission, review and make rec- ommendations to the City Council regard- ing community development block grant applications for capital improvement and rehabilitation projects. 5. Coordinate the property and finan- cial management and tenant related issues at affordable housing projects under the control of the City and/or the Housing Authority of the City, including Ridge View Commons and Kottinger Place. 6. Review and make recommendations to the City Council regarding the annual operating budget for the City's Lower Income Housing Fund. 7. Appoint the resident representatives to the Housing Authority Commission and Commission liaisons to affordable housing projects. (Ord. 1674 § 1, 1996) 36-3 (Pleasanton 5-98)
