5.36.010 <br />Chapter 5.36 <br />TRI-VALLEY TOURISM BUSINESS <br />IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br />ments to the property and business <br />improvement district law of 1994, as <br />amended. (Ord. 1929 § 1, 2006) <br />Sections: <br />5.36.010 Established <br />5.36.020 Boundaries <br />5.36.030 Amendments To State <br /> Law <br />5.36.040 Purpose <br />5.36.050 Assessments <br />5.36.060 Exemptions <br />5.36.070 Power To Contract <br />5.36.080 Collection Of <br /> Assessments <br />5.36.010 Established: <br />There is established in the cities of <br />Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon and <br />Dublin the Tri-Valley tourism business <br />improvement district ("the district"), <br />under the provisions of the property <br />and business improvement district law <br />of 1994, as set forth in the Streets and <br />Highways Code of the state, section <br />36600 et seq. (Ord. 1929 § 1, 2006) <br />5.36.020 Boundaries: <br />The boundaries of the district shall <br />be the corporate limits of the cities of <br />Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon and <br />Dublin as such corporate limits aze <br />amended from time to time. (Ord. 1929 <br />§ 1, 2006) <br />5.36.030 Amendments To State <br />Law: <br />The businesses and operation of the <br />district shall be subject to any amend- <br />5.36.040 Purpose: <br />The purposes for which the assess- <br />ments collected under this chapter shall <br />be used aze the statutory purposes set <br />forth in section 36600 et seq., of the <br />Streets and Highways Code of the state, <br />or one or more of the following purpos- <br />es: <br />A. Sales and mazketing programs and <br />activities designed to attract overnight <br />groups. <br />B. Communications and public rela- <br />tions activities and services to build <br />greater awazeness of Tri-Valley busi- <br />nesses and the Tri-Valley region as a <br />tourism, meeting, and event destination. <br />C. Administrative costs and opera- <br />tion. (Ord. 1929 § 1, 2006) <br />5.36.050 Assessments: <br />All lodging businesses with thirty <br />five (35) or more rooms available for <br />public occupancy within the boundaries <br />of the district shall be subject to an <br />assessment based upon one dollaz <br />($1.00) per paid occupied room per <br />night. (Ord. 1929 § 1, 2006) <br />5.36.060 Exemptions: <br />Stays by persons who aze govern- <br />ment employees on government busi- <br />ness and stays of thirty (30) days or <br />more shall be exempt from the assess- <br />ment.
