Public projects of twenty five <br />thousand dollars ($25,000.00) or less <br />may be performed by the employees of <br />the city by force account, by negotiated <br />contract or by purchase order. <br />B. Public projects of one hundred <br />thousand dollars ($100,000.00) or less <br />may be let to contract by informal pro- <br />cedures as set forth in section 22032 et <br />seq., of the Public Contract Code. <br />C. Public projects of more than one <br />hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) <br />shall, except as otherwise set forth in <br />section 22032 et seq., of the Public <br />Contract Code, be let to contract by <br />formal bidding procedure. (Ord. 1916 <br />§ 1, 2005; Ord. 1523 § 1, 1991) <br />3.32.020 Contractors List: <br />A. A list of contractors shall be <br />developed and maintained in accor- <br />dance with the provisions of section <br />22034 of the Public Contract Code and <br />criteria promulgated from time to time <br />by the California uniform construction <br />cost accounting commission. <br />B. The director of public works and <br />utilities shall each January mail a no- <br />tice to all contractors who have an <br />office in the city, who have a current <br />city business license, but who are not <br />already on the list as set forth in sub- <br />section A of this section, informing <br />such contractor of the existence of this <br />chapter and encouraging such contrac- <br />tor to request to be put on the list. <br />(Ord. 1537 § 1, 1992; Ord. 1523 § 1, <br />1991) <br />3.32.030 Notice Inviting Informal <br />Bids: <br />A. Where a public project is to be <br />performed which is subject to the pro- <br />visions of subsection 3.32.OlOB of this <br />chapter, a notice inviting informal bids <br />shall be mailed to all contractors for the <br />category of work to be bid, as shown <br />on the list developed in accordance <br />with section 3.32.020 of this chapter, <br />and to all construction trade journals as <br />specified by the California uniform <br />construction cost accounting commis- <br />sion in accordance with section 22036 <br />of the Public Contract Code. Additional <br />contractors andlor construction trade <br />journals may be notified at the discre- <br />tion of the department soliciting bids; <br />provided, however: <br />1.
