2.38.030 <br />city council, as provided in the adopted <br />city council resolution establishing proce- <br />dures for appointments to boards and <br />commissions. <br />C. Two (2) liaison commissioners shall <br />be appointed from other city commissions <br />or boards as follows: <br />1. One commissioner from the human <br />services commission; and <br />2. One commissioner from the plan- <br />ning commission. <br />D. Commissioners are eligible to par- <br />ticipate in all discussions of the commis- <br />sion except that: 1) the alternate commis- <br />sioner shall vote only if one of the regular <br />commissioners is absent or has a financial <br />conflict of interest, and 2) the liaison <br />commissioner shall have no voting privi- <br />leges. <br />E. The alternate commissioner may <br />serve as a voting member on any subcom- <br />mittee of the commission and may be <br />designated as the housing commission <br />representative to other boards and com- <br />missions. <br />F. Commissioners shall be compen- <br />sated as established by city council reso- <br />lution. (Ord. 1887 § 7, 2003; Ord. 1819 <br />§ 1, 2001) <br />2.38.040 Term Of Membership: <br />A. Regular commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve a maximum of eight (8) <br />years with two (2) 4-year terms. <br />B. Alternate commissioners shall be <br />eligible to serve four (4) year terms and <br />are not subject to a limit in the number of <br />years served. <br />C. A liaison commissioner shall be <br />eligible to serve a term of one year com- <br />mencing in January of each year. There is <br />no limit on the number of one year terms <br />that a liaison may serve, provided their <br />term shall end when a different commis- <br />sioner is appointed or when the liaison <br />commissioner's term on the planning <br />commission or the human services com- <br />mission ends. <br />D. The term of a commissioner shall <br />be consistent with and subject to city <br />council resolution concerning limiting <br />service on boards and commissions. (Ord. <br />1819 § 1, 2001) <br />2.38.050 Maintenance Of <br />Membership: <br />A. Persons appointed to the commis- <br />sion shall continue to serve as members <br />of the commission except when: <br />1. The commissioner's term of office <br />on the commission expires; <br />2. The commissioner voluntarily re- <br />signs from the commission; <br />3. The commissioner is absent from <br />one-third (t/3) of the regular meetings <br />within a six (6) month period as provided <br />in subsection C of this section; <br />4. The commissioner fails to maintain a <br />primary residence in the city. <br />5. The commissioner is employed with <br />the city in a capacity related to the duties <br />of the commission. <br />B. The secretary of the commission <br />shall inform the council when any of the <br />above occurs. <br />C. The following procedures shall <br />apply to termination of office as a result <br />of absences from commission meetings: <br />1. At the end of each six (6) month <br />period, the secretary of the commission <br />(Pleasanton January 2004) 36-2 <br />
