2.29.030 <br />from the community at large. The one <br />alternate adult commissioner shall be <br />selected from the community at lazge. <br />D. The regular commissioners and the <br />alternate commissioners shall be appoint- <br />ed by the mayor subject to ratification by <br />the city council, as provided , in the adopt- <br />ed city resolution establishing procedures <br />for appointments to boards and commis- <br />sions. <br />E. Commissioners shall be eligible to <br />participate in all activities of the commis- <br />sion except that the alternate commission- <br />er shall vote only in the event of an ab- <br />sence or conflict of interest of one of the <br />regular youth commissioners. <br />F. The alternate commissioners may <br />serve as a voting member on any subcom- <br />mittee of the commission. <br />G. Commissioners shall be compensat- <br />ed as established by city council resolu- <br />tion. (Ord. 1853 § 1, 2002; Ord. 1819 <br />§ 2, 2001) <br />2.29.040 Term Of Membership: <br />A. Regulaz youth commissioners shall <br />be eligible to serve a maximum of six (6) <br />years with three (3) terms of two (2) <br />years. <br />B. The regulaz adult commissioner <br />shall be eligible to serve a maximum term <br />of eight (8) years with two (2) 4-year <br />terms. <br />C. The alternate youth commissioners <br />shall be eligible to serve two (2) yeaz <br />terms and are not subject to a limit in the <br />number of years served provided that <br />their grade level does not exceed the <br />twelfth grade. The alternate adult member <br />shall be eligible to serve four (4) yeaz <br />terms and is not subject to the limit in the <br />number of yeazs served. <br />D. The term of a commissioner shall <br />be consistent with and subject to city <br />council resolution concerning limiting <br />service on boazds and commissions. (Ord. <br />1853 § 2, 2002; Ord. 1819 § 2, 2001) <br />2.29.050 Maintenance Of <br />Membership: <br />A. Persons appointed to the commis- <br />sion shall continue to serve as members <br />of the commission except when: <br />1. The commissioner's tenor of office <br />on the commission expires; <br />2. The commissioner voluntarily re- <br />signs from the commission; <br />3. The commissioner is absent from <br />one-third ('/3) of the regulaz meetings <br />within a six (6) month period as provided <br />in subsection C of this section; <br />4. The commissioner fails to maintain a <br />primary residence in the city; <br />5. The commissioner is employed by <br />the city in a capacity related to the duties <br />of the commission. <br />B. The secretary of the commission <br />shall inform the council when any of the <br />above occurs. <br />C. The following procedures shall <br />apply to termination of office as a result <br />of absences from commission meetings: <br />1. At the end of each six (6) month <br />period, the secretary of the commission <br />shall report the attendance record of each <br />member of the commission to the city <br />manager, who shall transmit the record to <br />the city council. <br />2. The city manager shall notify, in <br />writing, any commissioner who has been <br />absent from one-third ('/3) or more of the <br />regulaz meetings during the course of a <br />(Pleasanton April 2003) 28-4 <br />
